  • Clear your campsite of debris before erecting your tent
  • Utilise all peg point and guy points provided.
  • Utilise a storm strap in the event of inclement weather.

After use

  • Brush dirt off groundsheet and wipe with a wet cloth
  • Allow excess mud, bird droppings etc . to thoroughly dry before softly brushing off.
  • Rinse all zips and zip sliders with fresh water.
  • Never spray with insecticide or wash with any detergent
  • Close all window/door zippers.
  • Ensure the tent is dry
  • Fold in an orderly fashion.
  • Make a note of any repairs that may require attention before storage

General

  • Condensation:This is caused by lower temperetures on the outside of the tent combined with body heat on the inside of the tent. When this occurs, avoid touching walls to reduce contact leakage. Leaving all the doors and windows open will reduce the moisture condensation.
  • Leaking seams:A new tent should be wet thoroughly and allowed to dry before first usage, this process may need to be repeated in order to allow the natural swelling and seizure of both fabric and thread. Thereafter if small leakage still occurs, use a wax stick applied along the inside of the entire seam.
  • Zips:Ensure that all windows and zips are closed before pegging tent down and before folding tent up. Adjust tent peg points and guy points to reduce stress on zips. If a zipper seperates, you can move the slider to the beginning of the zipper tape and rework the zipper.
  • Remove pegs:Utilise another peg or peg puller to remove pegs, never pull on the peg point tape or tent.

 Sleeping Bag Care

Before Use

  • Hollow fibre bags that are stored compressed for a long time can lose their loft. (Insulating properties). Don’t store your sleeping bag in the stuff sac provided but rather loosely rolled up and in the cupboard. Take your sleeping bag every three months and fluff it to help maintain its loft.

During Use

  • When hiking store your sleeping bag in the weatherproof stuff sac. The stuff sac can reduce your sleeping bags physical size by as much as fifty percent.
  • Use your hollow fill sleeping bag in its flat form as it’s pulled from the stuff sac during warm weather, and loft if you are getting cold.
  • As the human body releases heat through the head and feet, it’s a good idea to open the footwell zip should you be getting hot and draw the cowl around the head and face should you be getting cold.

After Use

  • Should you be forced to pack your bag wet, be sure to hang it out and air dry it.
  • Pack your bag as the stuff sacs name suggests, feet first to allow the trapped air to escape.
  • Hang your bag out after each trip and allow it to air out before storing in the cupboard.
  • Washing your bag after each trip is not necessary.
