• Secure car keys in a safe place in your pack, leave spare keys with a friend.
• Check for an updated weather forecast.
• Inform trail office and a friend (staying behind) of your itenary.
• Check trail conditions with local management.
• Make sure you have emergency contact numbers for the area.
